背景

LRRK2 (Dardarin) is encoded by the gene LRRK2. Genetic mutations of LRRK2 have been linked to Parkinsonism and synucleinopathies. LRRK2 belongs to the ROCO protein family and includes a protein kinase domain of the MAPKKK class and several other major functional domains.LRRK2 gene mutation is the most common genetic cause of familial and sporadic PD, containing more than 20 PD-associated mutant genes, of which G2019S is the most common. LRRK2 can also participate in the pathogenesis of PD by directly triggering immune cell dysfunction. LRRK2 expression is not limited to neural cell lines, but can also be expressed in antigen-presenting cells, including microglia, monocytes, and B cells, and is involved in the immune response to pathogens.
