背景

CITED4 (CREB-binding protein/p300-interacting transactivator with E/D-rich tail 4) belongs to CITED family and all members of this family share CITED domain that can interact with CBP and p300. These proteins are transcriptional co-activators which can increase gene transcription through binding transcription factors with RNA polymerase II or via their acetyltransferase activity. CITED4 behaves as transcriptional coactivator for TFAP2/AP-2 and enhances estrogen receptors mediated transactivation.
